Directive From The TOC Executive

Interim COVID-19 Rules for the Toronto Outdoor Club

  • You must meet the following four conditions to participate in any TOC events.
    Within the 14 days preceding the event:
    1. You have not travelled outside of Ontario;
    2. You don’t have any COVID-19, cold, or flu symptoms;
    3. You have not knowingly been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case;
    4. You have taken and passed the Ontario COVID-19 self-assessment on- line questionnaire.
  • You will bring a cloth mask/face covering, which you will wear during the event meet-up, plus any time during the event when the 2m social distancing is not possible.
  • You will comply with any other rules as detailed on the TOC Rules Amendments
  • You will comply with any additional rules set by the organizer of the event for which you have registered, which could be more strict than the ones detailed above.

NOTES

  • These rules are in effect immediately and until further notice.
  • YOU MUST CONFIRM IN THE "NOTES" SECTION DURING SIGN UP THAT YOU MEET ALL THE CONDITIONS LISTED IN THIS DIRECTIVE AND YOU WILL COMPLY WITH ALL THE INTERIM RULES.
    Your event coordinator has been instructed to remove your event registration without further notice if you do not take this step during your registration.
  • Your coordinator may also remove you from the event (even after it has started) if you fail to comply with the rules, and report you back to the TOC Executive.
  • If you cannot or do not wish to follow these temporary rules, please wait to sign up for any TOC events until the interim rules are lifted.

EVENT DETAILS

So, the random hike generator has picked this urban hike for your morning.

Today's hike will be a combination of wide park paths, single track trails, paved neighborhoods, some grassy fields, so a little bit of everything.

This 12.5 KM hike will travel from Keele Station to Royal York Station

Probably about 3 relatively small hills on today's route.

I do have a washroom break planned for about 30 minutes into the hike and potentially 1.5 hours (second one i'm not as sure about)

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT LINE 1 IS CLOSED BETWEEN FINCH AND ST CLAIR THIS WEEKEND.

    Keele Subway Station is located on the Bloor-Danforth line (Line 2), one stop west of Dundas West and 7 stops east of Kipling.

    We'll meet outside the Keele Entrance to the Station. If raining or cold, I'll just be inside the station doors.

    For those of you driving, Keele Station is located on the north-east side of Bloor & Keele. In terms of parking, there's a TTC lot, one traffic light east of Keele and just a bit north.
