Executive Interim COVID-
19 Rules for
the Toronto Outdoor Club
- You
must meet the following four
conditions to
participate in any TOC events.
Within the
14 days preceding the event:
- You have
not travelled outside of Ontario;
- You don’t
have any COVID-19, cold, or flu
symptoms;
- You have not knowingly been in
contact with
a confirmed COVID-19 case;
- You
have taken
and passed the Ontario COVID-19 self-
assessment on-
line questionnaire.
- You will
bring a cloth mask/face covering,
which you
will wear during the event meet-
up, plus any
time during the event when the 2m
social
distancing is not possible.
- You will comply
with any other rules as detailed
on the TOC Rules Amendments
- You
will comply with any additional
rules set by
the organizer of the event for
which you have
registered, which could be more
strict than the
ones detailed above.
NOTES
- These
rules are in effect immediately
and until
further notice.

Your
event coordinator has been
instructed to remove
your event registration without
further notice
if you do not take this step
during your
registration. - Your coordinator
may also
remove you from the event (even
after it has
started) if you fail to comply
with the rules,
and report you back to the TOC
Executive.
- If you cannot or do not wish
to follow
these temporary rules, please wait
to sign up
for any TOC events until the
interim rules are
lifted.

EVENT DETAILS
So, this is my first time
leading this
shorter
version of the Smokey Hollow Falls
route.
This 12 KM hike will be
following the Bruce
Trail
as well as the side trails,
traversing past
Smokey
Hollow Falls in Burlington and a
pair of lookouts. We
might even get
the start of some fall colours for
this hike.
Please bring a lunch and at
least 1-2 Litres
of water. We will find a place to
stop for
lunch near the
falls.

Distance: 11.5 KM
Trail vs Road: 9.5 vs 2
Elevation Range: 100 Meters
Challenging Climbs of Note: 2 climbs of about 50
meters.
Largest Ascent: 50 meters

Highlights: 1 Waterfall & 2 Potential Lookouts

How to Get There: |
Event Directions: | | We'll meet at the parking lot
at 2198 Kerns
Road in Kerncliff Park.

Please note that my event
directions are
from Kipling Station. To
change the map to options that
better suit you,

then you can add your

- Leave Kipling Station and head
east to Kipling
Avenue.
- Turn right onto Kipling and
follow south 3 KM to
the Gardner Expressway.
- Take the Gardner Expressway
WEST. Please note
that you have to merge over 2
lanes very quickly to
stay on the QEW
to continue west.
- Follow the QEW for 40 KM until
Exit 101, Brant
Street / RR 18 in Burlington.
- Turn right (north) onto Brant
Street and then
immediately turn left (WEST) at
the first light at
North Service Road.
- Follow North Service Road for
1 KM and turn right
at Kerns Road.
- Follow Kerns Road for 2.5 KM
and turn RIGHT into
Kerncliff Park, which is 2198
Kerns Road.
POTENTIAL WASHROOM STOP
There's a Tim Hortons located
at the south-west corner of North
Service Road and Brant
Street.
