Directive From The TOC Executive

Interim COVID- 19 Rules for the Toronto Outdoor Club

  • You must meet the following four conditions to participate in any TOC events.
    Within the 14 days preceding the event:
    1. You have not travelled outside of Ontario;
    2. You don’t have any COVID-19, cold, or flu symptoms;
    3. You have not knowingly been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case;
    4. You have taken and passed the Ontario COVID-19 self- assessment on- line questionnaire.
  • You will bring a cloth mask/face covering, which you will wear during the event meet- up, plus any time during the event when the 2m social distancing is not possible.
  • You will comply with any other rules as detailed on the TOC Rules Amendments
  • You will comply with any additional rules set by the organizer of the event for which you have registered, which could be more strict than the ones detailed above.

NOTES

  • These rules are in effect immediately and until further notice.
  • YOU MUST CONFIRM IN THE "NOTES" SECTION DURING SIGN UP THAT YOU MEET ALL THE CONDITIONS LISTED IN THIS DIRECTIVE AND YOU WILL COMPLY WITH ALL THE INTERIM RULES.
    Your event coordinator has been instructed to remove your event registration without further notice if you do not take this step during your registration.
  • Your coordinator may also remove you from the event (even after it has started) if you fail to comply with the rules, and report you back to the TOC Executive.
  • If you cannot or do not wish to follow these temporary rules, please wait to sign up for any TOC events until the interim rules are lifted.

EVENT DETAILS

So this is an urban hike start out in the far east end.

We'll start from Midland SRT Station and head to McCowan Station for a 7 km route.

The majority of the hike is flat, with very few hills, which the majority of this hike being on wide paved trails.

Sorry, I can't guarantee any washrooms on this hike. However, there is a starbucks at the beginning of the hike and there's Scarborough Town Centre close to the end, so you'll have some close options.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE TTC IS CLOSED BETWEEN SHEPPARD- YONGE & BLOOR-YONGE STATION TODAY.

    Midland Station is located on the Scarborough Rapid Transit (SRT) line (Line 3), three stops East of Kennedy and one stop west of Scarborough Town Centre.

    Please meet outside the west entrance, which is the side with the collector booth.

    For those of you driving, Midland Station is located 2085 Midland Avenue, which is just north of Ellesmere. In terms of parking, there is a TTC lot just west of Midland, off Ellesmere. Probably about a 10 minute walk between the two.

    This hike will go forth rain or shine.

    Please arrive on time, I will turn off my cell phone once the event begins.
