Directive From The TOC Executive

Interim COVID- 19 Rules for the Toronto Outdoor Club

  • You must meet the following four conditions to participate in any TOC events.
    Within the 14 days preceding the event:
    1. You have not travelled outside of Ontario;
    2. You don’t have any COVID-19, cold, or flu symptoms;
    3. You have not knowingly been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case;
    4. You have taken and passed the Ontario COVID-19 self- assessment on- line questionnaire.
  • You will bring a cloth mask/face covering, which you will wear during the event meet- up, plus any time during the event when the 2m social distancing is not possible.
  • You will comply with any other rules as detailed on the TOC Rules Amendments
  • You will comply with any additional rules set by the organizer of the event for which you have registered, which could be more strict than the ones detailed above.

NOTES

  • These rules are in effect immediately and until further notice.
  • YOU MUST CONFIRM IN THE "NOTES" SECTION DURING SIGN UP THAT YOU MEET ALL THE CONDITIONS LISTED IN THIS DIRECTIVE AND YOU WILL COMPLY WITH ALL THE INTERIM RULES.
    Your event coordinator has been instructed to remove your event registration without further notice if you do not take this step during your registration.
  • Your coordinator may also remove you from the event (even after it has started) if you fail to comply with the rules, and report you back to the TOC Executive.
  • If you cannot or do not wish to follow these temporary rules, please wait to sign up for any TOC events until the interim rules are lifted.

So trying out another new urban hike from one of the new subway stations.

This 13.5 KM will go from Pioneer Village Station to NY Centre Station. For those of you who don't wish to walk the entire distance, we will pass Finch West Station, about 4 KM or just under an hour into the route.

The majority of this hike will be on paved park paths. However, there will be a bit of dirt single track trails as well as sidewalks for a good mix.

In terms of hills, there's probably about 2 of note, with a short stair climb.

There is a washroom both at the start and the finish of the hike, however, we'll do a mid-hike stop about 10 km or 2 hours into the hike.

PLEASE NOTE THAT LINE 1 IS CLOSED BETWEEN LAWRENCE & ST CLAIR THIS WEEKEND

    Event Directions:

    Take Line 1, Yonge-University all the way north to Pioneer Village Station. This station is located 4 stations north of Sheppard West and 2 Stations south of Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.

    We'll meet outside Steeles Exit to the Station, which is beside the regional bus terminal (NOT THE TTC ONE). For those of you who don't know the station, exit the station via the north staircase (if you don't know which is the north staircase, just follow the direction of the northbound train).

    For those of you driving, address of the entrance is 2800 Steeles Avenue West, which is located on the north side of Steeles between Jane & Keele. There is a TTC parking lot just behind the bus terminal.
