14. Seaton Trail - Section 2 (10 KM) (9/4/2021)

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Once you've reviewed the event details, and decided you'd like to join us, you MUST sign up at the bottom of this page.

You are STRONGLY encouraged to read this page in its entirety before signing up. If you'd like to attend, we ask that you abide by our rules and procedures as a time/cost saving process (with an end result of keeping membership free and lower cost events).

INTERIM RULES

  • Confirm that you will bring a cloth mask/face covering, which you will wear during the event meet-up, plus any time during the event that 2m distance is not possible.
  • PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS IN THE "NOTES" SECTION DURING SIGN UP. Your coordinator has been instructed to remove you from the event if you don’t.
  • Your coordinator may also remove you from the event (even after it has started) if you fail to comply with the rules, and you could be reported to the club.
  • If you cannot, or do not wish to follow these temporary rules, you should not sign up for our events until they are lifted. Thanks for your understanding as we keep each other safe during the pandemic.

EVENT DETAILS

So, we're going to do section 2 of the Seaton Trail. This is an in and out hike for about 10 km that meanders beside the West Duffins Creek with some nice viewpoints.
Quite a few ups and downs on this hike, but none greater than 20 meters (so not bad).

Pack a lunch as we will take a break at a at the halfway point in Whitevale Village. Sadly, there aren't really any washrooms on this hike.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WON'T BE A CARPOOL FOR THIS HIKE DUE TO CURRENT COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

  • 1-2 L of Water
  • Weather Appropriate Clothing

    Event Directions:

    We'll meet at the Forestream Parking Lot of the Seaton Trail.
    Address is: 806 Forestream Trail 43°52'10.5"N 79°07'54.3"W

    Please note that my event directions are from Don Mills Station. To change the map to options that better suit you, please click "MORE OPTIONS" link the 'Directions' map (below) and then you can add your own address into the search.

    • Leave Don Mill Station Passenger Pickup and exit into Sheppard Avenue East (turn Left).
    • Follow Direction on Sheppard Avenue to Exit into 404 Southbound (turn Left).
    • Follow Direction on 404 Southbound for about 1 KM to Exit onto 401 Eastbound.
    • Continue on 401 Eastbound for 22 KM and Exit onto Whites Road RR #38 (Exit # 394).
    • Turn left (north) onto Whites Road for 7 KM.
    • Once you've passed Concession Road 3, turn right onto Forestream Trail. (which is also considered Whites Road - Not confusing at all, Town of Pickering) If you are at Taunton Road, you just passed it and must U Turn back. There's a clearer sign for the Seaton Trail going south. (that's just how they designed it)
    • Follow the road down the hill and turn right as the first intersection, which is real Forestream Trail.
    • Continue on Forestream Trail and turn right into Seaton Trail Parking Lot.
