Speyside Loop | 10 KMs | NO CARPOOL (11/30/2019)

Itinerary:

NO CARPOOL: There is NO CARPOOL for this hike, please join only if you are able to make your own travel arrangements.

A hike through the Speyside Resource Management Area. The trail is nice and beautiful, although rocky with a varied terrain. We shall assemble at the bruce trail parking lot ( Location) and hike up a loop of approximately 9- 10 KMs. There are good chances there would be snow, so please have good quality Icers.

Schedule:

  • Assemble at the Brucetrail Parking lot on Sideroad 15 at: 8:50 AM.
  • Hike will begin at 9:00 AM 
  • Steady pace of 3-4 KMPH
  • We should be done by 1 PM
  • Short break of 15 mins for food. 

NO CARPOOL: There is NO CARPOOL for this hike, please join only if you are able to make your own travel arrangements.

ICERS: we may need icers for this hike. Be prepared. You must keep icers in your pack during the winter months.

 


Required Items to Bring:
  • PROPER ICERS with sharp metal points to dig into the ice - keep icers in your pack during the winter months.
  • Whistle
  • Cell phone
  • Good footwear (no open toe sandals!)
  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Water 2 L
  • Food or Snacks
  • Plastic Sheet/ Small Tarp to sit on

How to Get There:
Event Directions:The parking lot is on the 15 Side Road (Location). Coming from Toronto, take 401 and follow Regional Rd 25 N to 15 Side Rd in Halton Hills.

Notes:
This hike does not have a carpool. Please join only if you are able to arrange your own travel.
