Current forecast for Sunday in Caledon looks promising: a mix of sun and clouds, highs 21 ° in the morning (feels like 24), 26 ° in the afternoon (feels like 32).

The terrain is variable, with hilly and rocky sections. Length of hike is 16 km, pace 4 - 4.5 km/h.

This hike is suitable for intermediate hikers and fit beginners.

A Forks of the Credit loop, taking in the Main Trail, the Ring Kiln Side Trail, the McLaren Rd Side Trail, the Dorthy Medhurst Side Trail, and the Meadow Trail. Along the way we'll pass impressive ruins of a Hoffman lime kilm, the Devil’s Pulpit, the Credit river, Cataract Falls, and kettle lakes.

After the hike we'll go to the Belfountain Ice Cream Parlor

Members willing to drive and members with favourable attendance records may get priority on the wait list.

Wear long pants. Tuck your shirt into your pants, and pull your socks over your pant legs. Wear light coloured clothing to spot ticks more easily. Use bug spray containing DEET or Icaridin on your skin and clothing. Avoid tall grass.

Check yourself for ticks immediately after the event, you can ask me for help for removal. When you get home, shower and do a full body check, if you find a tick, remove it with tweezers. If a tick is attached to your skin for less than 24 hours, your chance of getting Lyme disease is negligible.

For more information, see Ticks
