Itinerary:
Friday evening, we will carpool in the big smoke and drive the 3 hours to Sydenham and the entrance to Frontenac Provincial Park. I suggest having dinner in Belleville just South of exit #543. We will camp at Frontenac Outfitters for the night.

Essentially, we are promising to get you to the park entrance for the weekend, and what happens after that is up to you.
We will have a mandatory pre-meeting Thursday Feb. 21 at Chalkers, in order to decide together.

Saturday, there are several options. We can ski or snowshoe out of our winter campsite for the day, without travelling.
Or backpack to cluster #2, over three small lakes with one portage.
Or the park office is a short drive away. The road to Big Salmon Lake makes clusters 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 all within reach.
See the Park Map.

There are no on-site rentals. You will need to bring your own equipment, and certainly you should be reasonably experienced with how you choose to travel. That being said, there are very simple routes available with no hills.
Participants with different strengths may choose their own paths, however, no one will be allowed to travel alone.
Participants should all have backcountry and winter camping experience.
Rentals are available from MEC if necessary. We will share the planning, cost, and weight of food.

Environment Canada Climate Normals for Godfrey Ontario are a daily high of -2C, and an overnight low of -14C in February. You will be outside in this weather for 48 hours without access to a heated building.

Dogs are allowed, however, the park requires they be leashed at all times.
