Doris McCarthy + Scarborough Bluffs 15 km (8/11/2018)

With the hot weather forecast this week, it will be great to walk along the beach, so....
Let's hike along the bottom of the Scarborough Bluffs starting and ending at the Doris McCarthy Trail head.
Most of the hike will be on the beach which means sand, driftwood logs and a couple of rocky sections to negotiate

NOTE: The Doris McCarthy Trail is a path to get down to the beach. The elevation change is 311 feet (95m) which means the last part of the hike is back up the 311 feet of elevation.


This is the route we will take.

  • start at Doris McCarthy Trail head
  • south to the beach
  • walk by the Scarborough Bluffs
  • do a quick loop of Guild Park and Gardens
  • east along the beach towards Lower Highland Creek
  • have lunch somewhere when we get hungry
  • turn around, go back to the Doris McCarthy Trail head

  • water (2 or 3L)
  • Good footwear
  • Weather appropriate clothing
