ICERS: we may need icers for this hike. Be prepared. You should keep icers in your pack during the winter months.

With the cold weather and snow we are having this week there will be some excellent ice formations along the shoreline, so....
Let's hike along the bottom of the Scarborough Bluffs starting and ending at the Doris McCarthy Trail head.
Most of the hike will be on the beach which means sand, snow, ice, driftwood logs and a couple of rocky sections to negotiate

This is the route we will take.

  • start at Doris McCarthy Trail head
  • south to the beach
  • east along the beach to Lower Highland Creek
  • have lunch somewhere when we get hungry
  • turn around, go back to the Doris McCarthy Trail head
