ICERS: we may need icers for this hike. Be prepared. You should keep icers in your pack during the winter months.


For advanced and intermediate hikers.
This hike is not for beginners. Everyone will be expected to keep up with the group.


ABOUT THE HIKE

  • This is a great hike with lots of varied terrain and sights around Secord Pond and in Goodwood Conservation Area.
  • Expect to see cows, a pond, a dam, brooks, creeks, an old cabin in the woods, boardwalks, catwalks, natural forest, beautiful planted pine groves, an old barn and silo, an impressive ridge, and a pet cemetery.
  • We will hike along part of the main Oak Ridges Trail plus some side trails
  • We will have a lunch break on the trail beside a creek

Required Items to Bring:
  • ICERS - keep icers in your pack during the winter months.
  • cell phone (in case you get separated from the group)
  • whistle (in case you get separated from the group)
  • Good footwear
  • Water 2 - 3L (as much as you need)
  • Weather appropriate clothing
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
  • Gaiters (for deep snow)
  • Snacks + lunch

Meet in the parking lot which is at the end of the straight portion of Secord Rd east off of Concession 3.
Do not drive all the way to the end of Secord Rd.


Notes:

This hike will go forth snow, rain or shine
If you want to cancel due to bad weather, you must decide and
remove yourself before the registration cut off.
Look near the top of this page for the reg cut off date and time.
