Hiking in Awenda Provincial Park (please bring lunch}


This trip combines scenic Bluffs trail in Awenda overlooking Georgian Bay which especially interesting to hike on after all leaves are gone to better see Georgian Bay and Wendat trail which is overlooking Kettle's Lake. After the hike we will drive directly to the Chalker's bar in Toronto to attend TOC Social event 20- smackers and have dinner and drinks over there with our fellows TOC members (you have to sign up for the 20-smackers social !!!). Attention: there will be an option to stop at subway station if you are not planning to attend the 20-smackers social event.

CARPOOL DEPARTURE Kipling subway station passengers' pick-up, Saturday, November 11, 9:30 AM.
DISTANCE 15 to 18 km (two trails)
PACE Ca 4-4.5 km/hour. No dropouts. Please make sure that you can keep up with hiking the distance without slowing down a lot or repeatedly stopping. We will take a break for lunch and have couple of stops to take photographs.
TRAIL DETAILS We will hike as a group two of Awenda's most beautiful trails through a partly rugged terrain of mixed hardwood forest. .
DINNER After the hike will drive to Chalker's bar in Toronto to atten the TOC Social 20-smackers. the will be an option to stop at subway if you don't attend the social.
HIGHLIGHTS Hiking scenic trail overlooking Georgian Bay and an option to attend TOC Social event 20-smackers right after.
PRIORITY Priority will go to DRIVERS WILLING TO TAKE PASSENGERS. Additional spots will be added depending on space in the carpool. Big thank you to drivers!!

  • -LUNCH !!!
  • -CASH FOR CARPOOL if you are a passenger
  • -appropriate clothing for the weather; it will be almost as cold as in winter.

  • -warm gloves/mittens
  • -hot beverage in a termos to warm up on the way

    Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $85.14 (calculated at total Km * $0.258, effective Monday, April 15, 2024). This is based on $0.08/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Your event coordinator will confirm exactly how much money is required from each person.
