Itinerary:

Starting from the parking lot at Tess Rd the hike will meander on the main trail through Crawford Forestry Tract and Crawford lake conservation Area. We will take Crawford Lake Side Trail to get back to the main trail for the journey back to the cars. We will also hike on the board walk around the lake. We plan to maintain a speed of 4.5 K/per hour and cover distance of about 12 k.

The hike will pass through mixed woodland, historic calcium pits and rocky outcrops into the Crawford Forestry Tract. Getting in the Conservation Area it goes through pine forests and meadows as well as some deciduous woods. A significant portion of the hike would be in the Nassagaweya Canyon. It runs between the main Escarpment and a rocky outcrop. It will cover rocky ground and some sharp ascents and descents. Some of us may find poles helpful. In between we will have lunch at a picturesque spot.

This hike is suitable for strong, intermediate or advanced hikers. Hikers coming on this event are expected to have D4 level experience. If you don't have a history with the TOC, please include details of your previous hiking experience in the notes. Everybody will go directly to the waiting list and we will add 8-10 members as drivers sign up.

There are no washroom facilities at the start of the hike, only half-way where we stop for lunch

Drivers willing to drive for the carpool will be given priority.

This is Bashir's first event so please send all queries to him ! Email preferred. Text only on day of event/hike.
