Itinerary:
It's the new year, and you've no doubt made a new year's resolution to be more active and get more exercise. What better way to do that than to check out Toronto's only indoor obstacle course?

We will meet in the main lobby at Pursuit OCR which is located near Queen & Dufferin (see below for directions). After the newcomers sign their waivers, the staff will give us a quick tour and some safety instructions. After that the course is ours! We will run the course a few times and perhaps take advantage of some of the other exercise equipment they have, or maybe even the ping-pong table. After a few hours when everyone gets tired we will call it a night.

If you have signed up for an obstacle race this summer (like Tough Mudder, Spartan Race, etc.), this is an excellent opportunity to do some training. Many of the obstacles at Pursuit are similar or identical to obstacles you will face in these sorts of races. If not, it is a great way to get some exercise while having fun at the same time. It is basically a jungle gym for adults!

The cost of a daypass is $20 and is paid directly to the gym once you arrive. There are also punch cards and memberships available. To learn more, visit their website at www.pursuitocr.com

NOTE: There are limited change rooms, so I suggest arriving ready to run if possible. Strangely, there are no water fountains in the facility so I also suggest bringing some water with you, otherwise you will have to buy some. Pursuit has lockers available to store your gear, all you need is a lock.

A NOTE ABOUT DIFFICULTY: I have rated this event a D2 because any active individual will be able to participate, but really it should be a D2 - D4. You can easily skip any obstacle you can't do or don't want to do and are free to run the course as many times as you wish. If you are looking for a good workout, you can accomplish that goal by running the course several times (my current record is seven) and challenging yourself to complete each obstacle. The main goal of this event is to have fun and get some exercise. How much exercise you get on this event is ultimately up to you.

If you have any questions or concerns about attending this event, please feel free to contact me before or after signing up.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Pursuit OCR is located at 444 Dufferin St, a few blocks north of Queen St W.

To get there on the TTC get on the 501 Queen streetcar, disembark at Dufferin St and walk north on Dufferin two blocks until you get to Pursuit OCR OR take the 29 Dufferin bus, disembark at Alma Ave and look for Pursuit OCR on the west side of the street.

There is no designated parking at Pursuit, so if you are going to drive you will have to find parking nearby which could be tricky. There are a few Green P lots along Queen street near Dufferin.

Notes:
We will be starting at 6:30pm. If you haven't been to Pursuit before, try to arrive a few minutes early to fill out the waiver. If you are late, you will have to find me on the course. My phone will be turned off once we begin, so any messages or calls will not be returned until after the event is over.
