You MUST have icers / traction devices with you on this hike.
It is a great idea to keep icers in your pack during the winter hiking season.
We won't know if we need them until we know that we need them, then you will be out of luck if you don't have them.

This hike will include 3 km of forest path with inclines and uneven terrain.
Part of the trail is within 2 feet of the river, and you might slide into the river if the path is icy and you do not have icers!

This will be a moderately paced hike along a mix of paved, gravel and dirt paths with a few small hills,
and 1 optional very steep hill beside the 401.
There may be some muddy, snowy and icy sections.

This will be our route:

  • Depart from North York Centre
  • just follow the hiker in front of you (or peruse the map above)
  • back to North York Centre
