Cheltenham Badlands, the Devil's Pulpit, and Apple Cider (22 km) (10/17/2015)

THE CARPOOL LEAVES DOWNSVIEW AT 8:30 AM

The terrain is variable, with hilly and rocky sections.

This is what I like to call a lollipop route, doing a 'There and Back' section as well as a large loop, totaling 22 km.

Some of the features of the hike will include climbing the Devil's Pulpit (no easy task), but we'll also check out the Cheltenham Badlands.

At the conclusion of the hike, we'll stop at the Spirit Tree for a sip of award-winning-cider or a taste of fresh pastries.

This hike is suitable for intermediate hikers.

If you cannot walk the entire distance, please do not sign up for this hike.

DRIVERS, WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE ANSWER THE CARPOOL QUESTION REGARDING THE AMOUNT OF PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE IN YOUR CAR!!!

For those of you choosing to meet at the event location, instead of the carpool, please ensure that you come on time

    Event Directions: Leaving Downsview - take the Allen Road south to the 401.

    -Travel west along Highway 401 to Highway 410 (15 KM).

    -Merge with Highway 410 and follow it North for approx. 35 km (NOTE: HWY 410 will eventually turn into HWY 10)

    -Turn Left at Boston Mills Road (NO TRAFFIC LIGHT) and follow the road west for about 3 km.

    -Turn right onto Creditview Road and travel north for about a km.

    -Before the road curves to the left, there is a gravel parking area, just to your right, where you can park your car.

    WARNING: There are no washroom at the start point of this event, nor are there any along the route.
