Itinerary:
Pi is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. All circles have the same Pi! When you calculate Pi, there is no end, but the start is 3.1415. Pi is a strange number; it’s an irrational number, actually.

But there’s nothing irrational about this hike! We’ll be hiking for real Pi(e)! And these pies are circles, too!

March 14, 2015 (3/14/15) is the only day this century to hike for Pi(e)!

We will start at Victoria Park subway station, travel through the ravines for 10 km, and then in the city another 4 km, and end at an excellent Pie Shop in Kensington Market. You can buy small pies or larger pies, in all sorts of fresh flavours that are made in store! This particular place is famous enough to have its own cookbook!

It’s also possible that we’ll have a quick detour stop on the way for a slice of pizza pie somewhere!

Note that the hike will end at Augusta and College. The closest subway is about 1 km from there, either towards Bloor or Yonge. I'll probably head to the Bloor station but might stop at a vegetarian restaurant before hopping on the subway. Company is welcome, either just to Bloor or also lunch.

The Important Stuff:

  • Start: Victoria Park Subway Station @ 10:30 AM sharp
  • End: College & Augusta ~ 14:00 (2 PM)
  • Pace will be approx 4-4.5 km/hr)
