Length: 14KM
This is an interesting hike from Borer’s Falls to the Bruce Trail into the Royal Botanical Gardens. We will follow Captain Cootes Trail along the waterfront to Marsh Walk, back along Bull’s Point trail to Borer’s Falls. A most notable wildlife sanctuary Cootes Paradise is a 250-hectare coastal wetland located at the west end of Hamilton Harbour. It supports a wide variety of rare and threatened species in plants and animals. The terrain has some small hills and some sections are hilly but does not appear to be challenging. The trail at the Royal Botanical Gardens are mostly packed earth, crushed stone, asphalt and boardwalk. Ice build-up in winter can make hills slippery so proper equipment is required. Minimum hiking shoes/ boots/traction device, water and lunch/snacks, and weather appropriate clothing. | |||||||
