Itinerary:
About three years ago I tried to do a series of hikes to discover 10 of the city’s best gelato parlours. But when I got to the third on my list, I stopped. To me, this is the best! What makes this one the best?
  1. Good workout in the ravines: We can hike 12 km, almost all of which are through the ravines.
  2. Good workout = more calories burned = more gelato
  3. They don’t just have gelato in a cone, they have hot pizza in a (pizza dough) cone, too! So this hike is perfect for a cooler winter day. There’s other food too, like lasagna and paninis.
  4. They don’t just have gelato and pizza, they’re also licenced. :)
The Important Stuff
  • Start location: Victoria Park Subway station (free parking on weekends)
  • End location: Gelato store on Bayview, just south of Eglinton.
  • Hike distance: 12 km, plus if you walk back to the subway, another 2km (or walk up to Eglinton and get a bus, or walk back to Vic Park Stn with me (if I'm up for it that day!))
  • Average target speed: 5 km / hour
