The Plan: Hike!

Distance: Approximately 30km

Speed: Julian (5-5.5km/h)

Terrain and Surface: Natural surfaces, rocky & hilly sections

Estimated Hiking Time: 7-8 hours

Notes:

  • If you come on a winter hike, you should always have a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it is icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding. You can purchase good quality icers at MEC.
  • This hike is suitable for advanced hikers. Hikers coming on this event must have a D4 and/or D5 level of experience and be able to maintain a 5 km/hr pace over variable terrain (up hills), you will be on the wait list until this is confirmed by Justin.
  • We will be going rain, snow or shine.
  • Itinerary:

    We will hike the Hilton Falls Conservation Area loop for 23.5 km and then hike Kelso mountain for another 7.7km



    Sights:
    Escarpment, Lookout views of (Kelso, Milton, Toronto), Golf course, Quarry, Fissures, Reservoir, Gorge, Water Falls.

    We'll start from the Hilton Falls Conservation Area parking lot. There will be a park entrance fee of $6.50.

    Those willing to drive and future D6 hikers will be given preference on the waiting list.
