Itinerary:

So, my hiking sensei was joking with me, saying I've gone soft with my urban hiking events, so here's a challenge through one of the most difficult and obscure trails in Toronto, CROTHERS WOODS.

NOTE: This is a D4 hike, so much like the autobahn in Germany, the pace will be set by the FASTEST HIKER. It will be your own responsibility to keep up. It is suggested that you be able to walk at a least 5.5 km/h.

Those coming on this event should be prepared with hiking shoes/boots. Especially on days after rain, the trails can be very muddy.

Meet at Rosedale Subway Station, outside the station entrance.

We will follow this path:

  1. Depart Rosedale Subway Station and speed walk through the Rosedale Neighborhood.
  2. Travel south-west through the Moore Ravine and past the Brickworks
  3. North through Crothers Woods and the lower Don Valley Mountain Biking Trail
  4. South through the Upper Don Valley Mountain Biking Trail
  5. South along the Don Branch and Old Pottery Road
  6. North-West through the Brickwork, Clorey Park and David Belfour Park
  7. Finish back at Rosedale Station.

Total distance is 15 km with a lot of hills

Following the hike, those interested can join me for a pint at the Rebel House
