Itinerary:
This trip is designed specifically to visit my favorite lookout in Frontenac, on the Moulton Gorge. Sorry, I can't post a picture, you'll just have to come and see it.
We will also be near to 'Old Thor,' which is an ancient truck rusting in the woods, miles from any road.

Friday morning, we will carpool in the big smoke and drive the 3 hours to the park.
It is less than 5km and approx. 2 hours from the Big Salmon Lake parking lot to our campsite at Cluster #6. There is a large hill directly at this site, with nice views.

On Saturday, hiking to the lookout and back will take around 3 hours. On Sunday we will walk out. The rest of this trip is entirely up to you.
Take a gander at the map.

Environment Canada's Climate Normals for Kingston in April are a daily high of 10C, low of 0C, and average of 5C. Expect rain and mud, but no people.

Dogs are allowed, however, the park requires they be leashed at all times.

Required Items to Bring:
Pack a bag lunch for Friday, and leave a snack in the car for yourself on Sunday. We will plan a menu together, split the cost and weight of food.
Bring at least 2L of water in refillable bottles.
One 3-season tent is needed. The sand pits are large enough for two 2-man tents.
Proper rain gear, suitable boots, and a pack bag of at least 50L are essential. Expect to get wet and cold this time of year if you are not prepared!
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Swimsuit, really. Your favorite vice.
A camera, a coffee press, as I have neither.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take Highway 401 East, exit at # 613 - Sydenham Road and go north approx. 20 km. At the end, turn left on County Road 5. In the village of Sydenham, watch for and follow the signs. After 13 Km on curvy County Road 19, you will see a larger Park sign indicating a right turn and a drive of 2.4 km on Salmon Lake Road. Meet at the park office. Directions.
