Itinerary:
NOTE: This hike is on the Saturday of the Labour Day Weekend. Sign up only if you're able to attend (and able to do the hike at specified pace and distance). Yes... I know that's obvious... but for some folks, obvious is not so obvious....

We will start at Km 70.6 at Mountainview Conservation Area and hike for about 10 km to Grimsby Point where we will finish the Niagara Section of the Bruce Trail.. Hurray...!!. To celebrate the milestone of completing this first section... why not go off the trail to somewhere different?? Makes sense to me. So... we will take the Forty Mile Creek side trail through the town of Grimsby (apparently it's a scenic tour:). We will find a place in town to have lunch (to celebrate), after which we will follow this side trail to Grimsby Harbour on Lake Ontario (2.4 km one way) and then retrace our steps back to the main BT. We will then take Beamers Falls Side Trail and Grimsby Point Side Trail to see the Beamers falls. We will end our hike at Km 2.2 of Iroquoia Section within the Beamer Memorial Conservation Area. Beamer Memorial Conservation Area lookouts afford some of the most breathtaking and panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario.

As usual, if we pass any wineries close to our route, we will take the advantage of our proximity and make a stop to visit.

Don't sign up if you can't commit to being out for 10 - 12 hours. You will be hiking up and down the escarpment with steep, long ascents and descents. Average hiking pace will be 4 to 4.5 km/h for about 5 to 6 hours. Please ensure you can hike the distance at the specified pace BEFORE you sign up.

BE PREPARED: We will hike as group. If you think you may be sprinting ahead... don't sign up!

We will be going rain or shine. Dress for the weather.

The event involves a car shuttle. Those who are willing to drive will be moved preferentially off the waiting list. Please plan to be out all day (arrival back 7-8 PM). No early departures.
