Itinerary:
1st NOTE: THIS IS CIVIC HOLIDAY (SIMCOE DAY) WEEKEND and TTC will operate on holiday service. If you sign up, it's your responsibility to figure out how you will get to Kipling Subway carpool location ON TIME.

2nd NOTE: This will be a long - and likely - HOT- day, thus the reason for our early departure. Don't sign up if you can't commit to being out for 10 - 12 hours. There will be lots of easy strolling, stopping and looking around but there will also lots of hills. You will be hiking up and down the escarpment several times. Average hiking pace will be 4 to 4.5 km/h for about 5 to 6 hours. Please ensure you can hike the distance at the specified pace BEFORE you sign up.

We will begin our hike at Rockway Falls and will include the Rockway Falls side trail in our hike. Note, given the dryness and temperatures, there may not be any water for the waterfalls. We will then continue to Louth Conservation Area where our hike will also include the Louth Side trail. After hiking for approximately 12 km we will reach Jordan Side Trail that will take us down the escarpment to the village of Jordan where we will stop for a late lunch at zooma zooma cafe. We will look around the village and may be find some ice cream :). We will then look for access to the Twenty Valley Trail . If the trail stays in the valley (ie not on the roads) we will hike to as far as we can, almost to Lake Ontario (~2 km). If the trail goes on streets - well... that's not so exciting (and likely very hot), thus, we can decide to turn around and hike the trail in the other direction. But if we do manage to take the trail towards Lake Ontario, we'll visit the Harbour Estates winery. where we can sample some wine and take a self guided tour around the winery. We can also visit a nearby Upper Canada Cheese factory that crafts premium artisanal cheeses from the milk of local Guernsey cows.

Depending on the time and our energy levels, we will then either hike back up the escarpment and Bruce Trail via Jordan side trail or take the Twenty Valley Trail all the way up to Ball's Falls Conservation. There is an entry fee of $5.75 to this conservation area. If time permits we will look around the conservation area before heading back to our cars at km 53.7.

BE PREPARED: We will hike as group. If you think you may be sprinting ahead... don't sign up!

We will be going rain or shine. Dress for the weather.

The event involves a car shuttle. Those who are willing to drive will be moved preferentially off the waiting list. Please plan to be out all day (arrival back 7-8 PM). No early departures.
