Potluck Picnic and Stroll (6/30/2012)

You are STRONGLY encouraged to read this page in its entirety before signing up. If you'd like to attend, we ask that you abide by our rules and procedures as a time/cost saving process (with an end result of keeping membership free and lower cost events).

Itinerary:
Enjoy the beautiful weather with a Canada Day- themed picnic. We'll meet at St. George subway station, BEDFORD RD. EXIT, then stroll down Philospher's Walk to a beautiful, quiet spot on the University of Toronto campus, where we will share a delicious meal.

The theme of the potluck is: red and white.

Any foods containing red and/or white are welcome - be creative. Here are some ideas:

  • Pinwheel sandwiches made with red and white wraps
  • Watermelon, strawberries, cherries or salads/desserts containing them
  • Tomato salad such as a Caprese salad
  • A navy bean and/or kidney bean salad
  • Fruit punch and/or lemonade
  • Goat cheese and sundried tomato spread on crackers or with a baguette
  • Beet hummus and/or tzaziki with pita bread

Once you've registered, I'll send you a link to a Google Doc where you can see what other people are bringing and list your contribution. You can also list any food restrictions you might have and we will try to accommodate them.


Required Items to Bring:
  • Food or drink item to share, with serving implements
  • Plate, bowl or tupperware container to eat out of
  • Cutlery
  • Cup or bottle to drink out of
  • Towel or picnic blanket

How to Get There:
Event Directions:By subway, take the Bloor-Danforth line or the University/Spadina line to St. George subway station. Leave via the BEDFORD ROAD exit (NOT St. George exit).

If you are coming on foot, by bike or by car, the exit is located on Bedford Rd., north of Bloor. Click here for a map
