Itinerary:
READ THE ENTIRE POSTING BEFORE SIGNING UP. THE CARPOOL starts in BRAMPTON.

Some west end folks have stated that they would be interested in something more local and shorter... So I planned out my longer Bruce Trail treks that are yet to take me to this point sometime in the future. But here and now is the first 'experiment' with a shorter hike that is intended to be 10 to 15 km. The pace would depend on the terrain and will range from about 3.5 to 5 km/h to make the hike approx 3 to 4 hr. That's hiking time.. the driving time will depend on location. Carpools, if required, for these hikes will begin in Brampton.

So we start with a more challenging and, yet more interesting one

We will start at Crawford Lake Conservation. We will visit the Iroquoian village before picking up the Crawford Lake Side Trail around the Crawford Lake and then continuing with the main trail around the Nassagaweya Canyon, looping back around to our starting point.

Non-Bramptonions note: you're welcome to join us but you'll have to get out to the event or to the carpool at Brampton GO station under your own steam... There is a GO bus service from Toronto (York Mills, Yorkdale and other points). Please consult the GO Transit schedule. For example: You need to be sitting on the 10:15 AM bus out of Yorkdale to meet our carpool departure time. Please indicate in the Notes section when you sign up if you're planning on arriving by bus, so that we can wait, should the bus be late by a few minutes.

Depending on the availability of drivers, the event volunteer may being a medium sized dog along on the hike.

BE PREPARED: There will be lots of easy strolling, stopping and looking around but there will also be the need to go up and down the escarpment. Average hiking pace will be 3.5 to 4.5 km/h for about 3-4 hrs hours. Please ensure you can hike the distance at the specified pace before you sign up. We will hike as group. If you think you may be sprinting ahead... don't sign up!

We will be going rain or shine. Dress for the weather.
