Itinerary:

SNOWSHOE ADVENTURE - FAMILY DAY

Hardy Lake is a beautiful non- operating provincial park in Muskoka. There are three stacked loops of trails through rugged terrain of mixed hardwood forest. We will snowshoe (or hike, depending on conditions) the main trail that goes directly around the lake, exploring side trails as we go. If we are lucky we will may catch sight of some of the forest's white tail deer and moose. Afterwards we will stop somewhere nearby for a quick dinner before returning to the city.

DIFFICULTY: Total distance will depend on conditions; hiking we will go 15 km, snowshoeing we may only go 8 - 11 km. You must be able to hike at a decent pace of 3.5 - 4.0 km an hour on rugged terrain or 4.5-5.0 in the city. This is not a speed hike, participants are expected to stay with the group. Speedsters may be asked to go to the back of the pack and act as sweep.

DOGS: Are always welcome with a driver.

NO SHOWS: This event has a car pool, therefore anyone cancelling within 24 hours will receive an automatic no show.
