Itinerary:

From the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority website (www.trca.on.ca).

"The Oak Ridges Moraine is one of the most distinct physiographic landforms of southern Ontario. It stretches as a ridge of hilly terrain for 160 kilometres from the Niagara Escarpment in the west to the headwaters of the Trent River in the east. The moraine was created as glaciers receded and deposited layers of sand and gravel that are separated by clay and till soils."

Part of the Last Minute Hike Series, this event will be a moderate pace hike of approximately 12 km covering an Oak Ridges Moraine Hiking Trail Loop and a short trail section of Durham Regional Forest.

We'll keep to a moderate pace of around 3.5 to 4.0 kms per hour with opportunities for taking photos and other short stops as desired. Lunch and snacks will be on the trail.

All dogs must be on leash and all dog waste must be packed out. Dog owners are responsible for their own rides.
