Itinerary:
We will depart at 6pm on Friday for APP. We will camp at Mew Lake (car camping), where sites will be obtained on a first-come first-served basis. On Saturday morning, we will pick up our rental canoes and spend the day paddling on one or more of Algonquin's lakes. The trip will be suitable for novice canoeists (and it may be possible to arrange lessons to help get you started). We will return to our campsite on Saturday evening to cook dinner, huddle near the campfire, and swap travel tales and ghost stories (please, no overindulging with the alcoholic beverages). On Sunday we will do some more paddling before heading back to Toronto in the late afternoon. If lake conditions are not suitable for paddling, we will opt for day hikes instead. At this time of year there won't be many humans around, but the animals will be very active preparing for winter, so the wildlife sightings should be pretty good. There will be a pre-trip meeting on Oct 10. All costs will be met during the trip. Come prepared to pay for your share of the camping fees, canoe rental fees, etc.
