Itinerary:

please read the information below before signning up.

The terrain is hilly and challenging. There are two big ascents and descents. We'll try to keep to a brisk pace of around 4.5-5km an hour.

I hear good things about this section of bruce trail. There will be lots of scrambling in some places. That's got to be fun, providing you don't hurt yourself. So proper hiking boot is a must.

This hike is suitable for strong intermediate or advanced hikers. Hikers coming on this event are expected to have previous D4 or D5 level experience. If you don't have a history with the TOC, please include some comments in the notes about your hiking experience.

We will start by taking the Standing Rock & Caves Side Trail, which heads down the Escarpment through rock debris to a standing rock pillar, the result of erosion over eons.

We will then follow the main Bruce trail north to the forested beauty of the Pretty River Valley . We will follow the main Bruce trail to the highest point and then double back following several side trails to complete a 20ish km loop.

Drivers on the waiting list will be given priority to come on to this hike.

Car pool location is kipling station.
