Itinerary:
Due to the length of drive, the fact that the coordinator has never been on this hike before and the early darkness, we'll be leaving the carpool at 8:30 am SHARP. If you are late you will be left behind!
From the Bruce Trail Map Book - Side Trails, Map 3:

The Twelve Trail was established in 1984 by Brock University students. It follows the east bank of Twilve Mile Creek and intersects with the Merrit Trail. Travelling southeast along the second and third Welland Canals, the Merrit Trail joins up with the Bruce at Mountainview Park for a 15.7 Km loop

Part canal walk, part urban hike, this lengthy circuit should provide some crisp winter walking. It's unknown what the conditions of the trail will be like at this time of year. Icers, or yak trax - available at MEC or Lee Valley Tools are recommended in case we run into ice on pavement- a likely combination.
