We will depart from Toronto Friday night and camp overnight at the Mew Lake campground in Algonquin Park. On Saturday morning we will head out to the Highland backpacking trail. We will spend Saturday and Sunday backpacking the 2nd loop on the trail. Total distance is about 32km. We will return to Toronto late on Sunday evening. Previous backpacking experience is mandatory for this trip: you must have completed at least one TOC backpacking event to qualify. You may also qualify with equivalent experience: if so, detail it in the Notes field upon signing up. Members with a lot of outdoor experience but no backpacking experience MAY be allowed on the trip at the discretion of the organizer: detail your experience in the Notes if you qualify.
