Itinerary:
TOC members are many and varied, but we all come together as we all love the Outdoors! Being a part of the TOC is a special thing for so many people. It means being able to go out there and do what you love. For some it’s a simple day hike in the woods in the fall, seeing the spectacular colours, all the mushrooms blooming afoot, the chance to finally breathe in that fresh and clean air that guarantees you a great night’s sleep! For others it’s hitting the river in a canoe for a long weekend getaway in the backcountry where the dehydrated dinner tastes so good, and it’s the long day and hard work that is going to finally bring on the zee’s, despite the tree limb in the middle of the bed!

Just like its members, the TOC volunteers are all different. But of course, they were once members, too!

Did you know that the TOC is 100% volunteer-run? Even the Executive is made up entirely of volunteers who love this club and devote their own time to ensuring that we’re here to keep giving -- and therefore getting -- all that the TOC can offer!

This event is for members who are thinking of becoming a volunteer. There are lots of great reasons to take this next step! Volunteers get to do more of the events that they love doing! They get to hone their leadership and organizational skills! They get to mention it at work at promotion time, or put it on their resume. They even get to meet tonnes of great people (like you!)

Please join us at this event:

  • IF you are thinking about joining the volunteer team (however, there’s no obligation to join just because you attend the event);
  • IF you have already attended at least 5 TOC (outdoors) events
In a relaxed and casual setting, we’ll discuss what event coordinators do, and the structure and mandate of the TOC. There will be a brief overview of the club’s guidelines and policies . I’ll explain the next steps to becoming an Event Coordinator, and finally there will be lots of time for questions and answers!
