Itinerary:
Our season premiere was delayed for a week because of rain on the originally scheduled day. So, this event is the new start to the inline skating season!

Welcome to the season premiere for inline skating with the Toronto Outdoor Club! This is the first such event in a series; look for other occasional Thursday night inline skating gatherings throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

We'll start off this year's season with a relatively easy trail -- the West Toronto Railpath. This multi-use pathway is one of Toronto's newest, and it is a very flat, very smooth trail. We'll plan to follow the pathway in one direction to where it ends; we'll turn around, and skate back south along the same trail, to the other end.

We'll meet at Dundas West subway station (come upstairs, and meet near the McDonald's), then we'll walk about 5 minutes to one section of the trail.

In all, this new multi-use pathway is only a few kilometres long, so we may go back and forth a few times for the evening to really get our exercise in. After we're done, we'll walk back to Dundas West subway station.

This is an evening skate for all levels! If you have skates, but haven't used them in a while -- still come. There will be informal coaching sessions, and since this path is so flat and smooth, it's a good one to get started on. We'll work our way up to more difficult trails as the season progresses.

Also, if you have suggestions of multi-use paved pathways suitable for exploration with inline skates -- please send those suggestions along! New ideas for new pathways are warmly welcomed.

Notes:
1. Rentals will not be arranged for this trip. Please bring your own inline skates, or make sure that you can borrow someone else's in order to participate.
2. It's likely that there will be some falls on this trip. Helmets are mandatory for this event. Please bring a helmet, and be prepared to wear your helmet the whole time that we are skating. Without a helmet, you will not be able to participate in this event. Knee pads, elbow pads, and wristguards are also recommended unless you're an expert skater.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This trip is weather dependent! The trip will be cancelled if it is raining, as the paths will be wet and slippery, which is neither safe nor ideal for our inline skate event. If you sign up for this event, please do check your e-mail on Thursday morning for final confirmation of the trip.
