HOT DOCS: The National Parks Project "Stunning and inspired, this ambitious omnibus film barely fits the big screen. Fifty-two filmmakers and musicians explore our country’s rugged wilderness, translating the landscape into cinematic form to mark Parks Canada’s centennial." When Parks Canada was formed in 1911 it was the first national parks service in the world. 100 years later Canadian artists from across the country have created this documentary to capture the majesty of 13 of our national parks, one in each province. This film has gone RUSH meaning no more advance tickets are for sale. So that means that : a) should be a great film! b) If you don't have a ticket + want to go you can probably still get in, you will have to line up outside the Royal and around 8pm Hot Docs will open a box office for the remaining tickets. http://www.nationalparksproject.ca/ PARKS AND ARTISTS GWAII HAANAS NATIONAL PARK & HAIDA HERITAGE SITE (BC) Filmmaker: Scott Smith (Falling Angels) Musicians: Sarah Harmer, Jim Guthrie, Bry Webb (Constantines) SIRMILIK NATIONAL PARK (NU) Filmmaker: Zacharias Kunuk (Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner) Musicians: Andrew Whiteman (Broken Social Scene) & Dean Stone (Apostle of Hustle), Tanya Tagaq WATERTON LAKES NATIONAL PARK (AB) Filmmaker: Peter Lynch (Project Grizzly) Musicians: Laura Barrett, Rollie “Cadence Weapon” Pemberton, Mark Hamilton (Woodpigeon) GROS MORNE NATIONAL PARK (NL) Filmmaker: Sturla Gunnarsson (Force of Nature: The David Suzuki Movie) Musicians: Melissa Auf der Maur (former Hole, Smashing Pumpkins), Jamie Fleming (Catl), Sam Shalabi NAHANNI NATIONAL PARK (NWT) Filmmaker: Kevin McMahon (Waterlife) Musicians: Shad, Olge Goreas & Jace Lasek (The Besnard Lakes) KLUANE NATIONAL PARK (YU) Filmmaker: Louise Archambault (Familia) Musicians: Ian D’sa (Billy Talent), Mishka Stein (Patrick Watson), Graham Van Pelt (Miracle Fortress, Think About Life) WAPUSK NATIONAL PARK (MN) Filmmaker: Hubert Davis (Hardwood) Musicians: Sam Roberts, Kathleen Edwards, Matt Mays MINGAN ARCHIPELAGO NATIONAL PARK RESERVE (QC) Filmmaker: Catherine Martin (Ocean) Musicians: Jennifer Castle (Castlemusic), Sebastien Grainger (ex-DFA1979), Dan Werb (Woodhands) BRUCE PENINSULA NATIONAL PARK & FATHOM FIVE NATIONAL MARINE PARK (ON) Filmmaker: Daniel Cockburn (You Are Here) Musicians: Christine Fellows, John K.
