Itinerary:

Continuing where we left off at the end of last season on the Bruce Trail End-to-End Endeavour... We'll pick up the Bruce Trail near Sideroad 30 in the Beaver Valley, and hike up the west side of the valley to the Fairmont Side Trail (BTC Map Ref: 26/27), taking in the Beaver Pond and Epping Lookout Side Trails en route. The distance covered will be approximately 20 km. This hike will be typical Bruce Trail, up and down under trees, some road walking, steep ascents or descents in places. We should have some spectacular views around the Beaver Valley, and hopefully, not too much snow to contend with...

We will travel at an average pace of around 5 kph, slower going up, faster coming down. This event will also involve an end-to-end car shuttle so there can be no drop-outs once we start hiking.

After the hike, we'll find a local restaurant for dinner, before heading back to the GTA.

NOTES:

  1. Previous D4 hike experience or at least 3 D3 hikes with me in the past two years is required. If you have no TOC D3 or D4 hike events, indicate what 15+ km hikes you have completed in the past two years in the notes when you sign up - waiting list priority will be given to members who provide this information!
  2. The trail is likely to be slippery and wet so footwear with good foot and ankle support is required; anyone showing up at the carpool without proper footwear will be sent home.
  3. This hike is on Good Friday, so the holiday schedule will be in force for the TTC - check your departure times in order to arrive at Kipling by 7:50 at the latest... we won't be waiting for late-comers!
