SKI THE NEW TRAILS AT HARDWOOD

For the 2nd year in a row readers of Get Out There Magazine have voted Hardwood Ski and Bike as the best place in Eastern Canada to cross country ski. So let's go! This year looks even better as Hardwood has re-routed its 27 km of trails for the 2011 season. The new trail network now consists of 7 different loops ranging from 5 km up to 22 km. We will ski in small groups based on everyone's levels. The group will leave Hardwood Hills by 5pm and be back at Downsview by 7pm.

FOOD: There is a chalet with food and drinks. It only serves basic food though so you may want to bring your own lunch. Here is the menu: Hardwood Hills cafe menu

TRAIL PASSES: A day trail pass is $20.50, rentals are $27 on site (or $15 at MEC) + HST.

SIGN UP INSTRUCTIONS: When you sign up please answer the following questions in the comments section.
Drivers, and possible drivers…
  • * How many passengers can you take with you, and can you also take skis? Can you take skis on roof racks? (Important for people with long skis.)
  • For everyone...
  • * Are you taking skis up with you? Or will you rent them?
  • * If you are taking your skis, how long are they? – Please estimate if you are unsure.
  • The group might also stop for some food on the way back.

    Subway Closures
TTC just made a press release stating the Spadina Subway will be closed between Wilson Station and Downsview Station for the next two weekends. All Spadina subway trains will turn back south at Wilson Station. But a frequent bus service will be provided between Downsview and Wilson stations. So, it will take longer than normal to get to downsview station, please plan accordingly. Click here for more information.
