Itinerary:

Note time & location change - we're seeing the 7.45 showing at the Paramount

This British horror-thriller recalls grueling, adrenaline-pumping classics like "Deliverance," "Jaws," "Alien" and "Dead Calm." It's that good. Finally, a scary movie with teeth, not just blood and entrails -- a savage and gripping piece of work that jangles your nerves without leaving your brain hanging. And so, for a change, you emerge feeling energized and exhilarated rather than enervated, or merely queasy. - Jim Emerson, The Chicago Sun-Times

What The Blair Witch Project did for camping, The Descent will do for caving. - Steve Tilley, Canoe.ca

Of particular interest to anyone who went on TOC's Warsaw Caves event, The Descent is a British horror film that's getting terrific reviews (see above). Six women go caving in Appalachia. After a rock fall blocks their exit, they must go deeper into the caves to find another way out. Things start to go even more horribly wrong when they discover they aren't alone in the damp, slimy darkness....

We'll meet at 7.10 PM to buy tickets and get seats. The movie starts at 7.45. After the movie, we'll grab drinks/food and try to calm down before heading out into the night.
