Itinerary:

This out and back hike is in the Wilderness Section of the Ganaraska Trail (Devil's Lake Section). The Ganaraska wilderness is noted for its roughness (note it is not unusual in the wilderness section for trail markers to be vandalized and moved).

Since the road to the Victoria Bridge will be closed, we will be heading to the Devil's Lake Access point and hiking out Petticoat Junction (I wish I knew where that name came from) and lunch at Cooney Lake. Along the way, we will traverse the forest, ravines, beaver dams and lakes. If we're lucky, we may see signs of bears, wolves, foxes. Note that there will be some beaver dam crossings; hikers must be prepared for wet feet!

Participants must be able to hike at a minimum of 4-4.5k/hour pace to come on this hike. We will do an out-and-back hike of approx. 28k.

Our hike will go, rain or shine (and there is a chance of rain). Do not sign up unless you are prepared to go out in the rain.

This event is only for experienced hikers.
