Itinerary:
It's that time of year again, when the maple sap is flowing in the trees! We can "tap" into this at a maple syrup festival at the Kortright Centre for Conservation, just north of Toronto.

Our carpool will leave from Downsview station at 9:45am sharp so plan to be there at 9:30am or you'll miss your ride! We will do a 1hr Maple Syrup guided tour from 10:30am to 11:30am which includes a Maple Syrup Demonstration and Sap Sampling. Afterward we'll enjoy a pancake breakfast in the Kortright Centre Cafe. The cost of pancakes is about $6.50 for 3 pancakes, and $5.50 for 2 pancakes. Other things for sale include hot dogs, sausages, back bacon on a bun with maple syrup, maple tea, maple coffee, hot apple cider and their famous Samosa's with chickpea and potato curry. There will be time to wander about the visitor centre and Nature Gift Shop before heading back out for a Horse Drawn Wagon Ride. Then it's time for some hiking. We may decide to split off as there are a couple of hiking options . There is the Forest Trail, the Marsh Trail and the Power Trip Trail. The Power Trip Trail is a 1.6-kilometre trail that features one of Canada's largest educational demonstrations of renewable energy and energy efficient technologies. Along this trail you will also find the Renewable Energy Cottage and Greenworks building.

We will meet back at the Visitor Centre by 4pm to head back to Downsview arriving around 4:30pm. Please note that the gift shop closes at 4pm
