Itinerary:

This event has a 7:00 a.m. carpool departure. The carpool location is the St. George and Bloor Street Subway Station Kiss and Ride, on the St. George Street side. The 7:00 a.m. departure time is firm.

We will drive from Toronto to Niagara-on-the-Lake early on Sunday morning, and spend the day riding from there to Fort Erie and back, for a total of about 115 km. We will return to Toronto the same evening after having supper in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The fall colors should still be visually striking, and the temperatures ideal for long-distance cycling. Be sure that if you sign up for this event, you are able to cycle a distance of 115 km in a day, at an average speed of about 23 km/hr. Most of this ride will be on pavement. If you have not completed at least three or four 60 km plus rides in the last couple of months, this event is not for you. While there will be short breaks for picture-taking, this event is intended to be a continuous ride with one major break for lunch in Fort Erie. The focus shall be efficient cycling, not sight-seeing.

Required Items to Bring:
Bike helmet; tuned-up-bicycle; padded bike shorts; at least one spare tire tube and a spare tire; tire levers for changing a flat tire; bike lights (front and rear); water; snack food for rides; bike lock; fluorescent vest; sun block; suitable clothing (layers) for cycling in the fall temperatures, including gloves; sufficient funds for food and carpool (not included in event payment).
