Itinerary:

Come and discover Frontenac Provincial Park in the winter. Hear the wolves howl at night and discover old abandon homesteads and mining camps during the daytime. Situated on a southern arm of the Canadian Shield north of Kingston, this semi-wilderness park features granite outcrops, vast wetlands and mixed forests, plants and wildlife. Trails wind through rugged terrain.

We will be driving to the Kingston area on Friday morning (yes you must take Friday off work) and then snowshoeing/backpacking into the park. We will be snowshoeing at a moderate pace (2-4 km per hour), on lakes, trails with some bushwhacking from lake to lake. Last year we explored the north east end of the park. This year we will exploring the south-east end of the park. The plan is to cover ~35 Km loop over the 3 days (2 camps) tailored to the local snow conditions and group pace. We plan to exit the park on Sunday afternoon and drive back to Toronto.

This trip is open to experienced snowshoeing/campers with cold weather experience that have the proper gear.
