Itinerary:

Come learn how to skate-ski! A great rate of $40 includes trail-pass, rentals & a one-hour lesson. We should arrive at Hardwood Hills in time to get rental gear & do some warm-up stretching. The lesson will start at 12:00. The emphasis for the one-hour lesson is learn to skate ski for the beginner skier. The lesson will cover things like: balance; ski-to-ski weight transfer & poling techniques. Hardwood Hills has meticulously groomed trails winding through picturesque snow laden forests. It has three distinct trail systems for differing abilities. Follow these easy tips to get the most out of your day.

Dress in layers, wear a hat, mitts provide greater warmth than gloves;

Ski with a buddy;

Ski in the indicated direction and observe all signs

Don’t litter; pack up all garbage

Don’t block the trail. Move off of the track if you fall or during breaks

Yield the track to faster skiers or skiers calling "track"

Don’t bring dogs on the trails

- 400 North to Barrie - take the 400 extension north of Barrie - take the first exit off the 400 extension onto Forbes Rd (exit #111) - turn left at stop sign - follow Forbes Rd. NE for 10 km Hardwood Hills will be on the left hand side of the road

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $61.92 (calculated at total Km * $0.258, effective Thursday, May 9, 2024). This is based on $0.08/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Your event coordinator will confirm exactly how much money is required from each person.

Notes:

- Registration is NOT COMPLETE until you've signed up and paid by the registration cut off date. The money must be in the TOC's possession by that date. No exceptions.
- When a minimum group size appears, this is to let you know that the event will be cancelled with full refunds to those who have already paid, if the minimum number of registered participants is not met. For any events where TOC needs a minimum number of participants, there will be absolutely no refund of money if you cancel.
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in TOC events.
