Itinerary:
This winter is my second anniversary as a volunteer with the Toronto Outdoor Club. To mark the occasion I have decided to offer a repeat of my favorite trip in the 40 events I have coordinated during that time.

The original can be found here.

The carpool will depart Toronto at noon Friday, in order to reach the park and walk 3 hours into Cluster #6 with daylight to spare.
The trails are expected to be extremely muddy, with large sections under water, and the weather may be particularly nasty with the possibility of storms, snow, and/or heavy rain. If you are wondering why this is an attractive scenario, please realise how likely it is there will be any other people around.
Saturday we will complete a meandering hike of some of Frontenac's best features. In particular, I want to locate the old steam boiler at the Tett mines, which has eluded me on two previous visits.

Have a look at the map.

There will be no planning meeting for this trip. We need only one additional tent, a set of pots, two communal breakfast and one dinner. You will be responsible for your sleeping bag, pad, backpack, clothing, wet weather gear, dry lunch and snacks.

Environment Canada's Climate Normals for Kingston in April are a daily high of 10C, low of 0C, and average of 5C.

I will not take inexperienced or unprepared club members on this trip, mostly due to the possibility of truly awful weather.

Dogs are allowed, however, the park requires they be leashed at all times.

Required Items to Bring:
Bring at least 2L of water in refillable bottles.
Proper rain gear, suitable boots, and a backpack.
Sleeping bag and pad.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Warm clothing.
A camera, a coffee press, as I have neither.
