Canoe to Franklin Island (8/15/2008)

Itinerary:
We will depart from Toronto Friday evening and camp overnight before heading to the Island where we will camp on Saturday night. There are no portages. We will head back to Toronto on Sunday afternoon. Canoeing ability: - We will cross one sheltered channel which sometimes gets medium winds. Otherwise, the trip can be described as moderate to easy. You should be able to swim or at least be comfortable around water, and be at a level of fitness to paddle for a few hours: we will paddle both Saturday and Sunday. Canoe rental cost is estimated at $50 per person. We will be camping on Crown Land, therefore there are no site fees. Food and Carpool are extra All participants are required to wear a Personal Flotation Device at all times when they are in the canoe on the water.

Required Items to Bring:
sleeping bag, sleeping pad, utensils, group items such as tent, water filter, stove, pots, etc.
