Walking the Toronto Islands (5/30/2008)

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Once you've reviewed the event details, and decided you'd like to join us, you MUST sign up at the bottom of this page.You will then make your payment for this event at the venue, NOT in advance to the TOC.

You are STRONGLY encouraged to read this page in its entirety before signing up. If you'd like to attend, we ask that you abide by our rules and procedures as a time/cost saving process (with an end result of keeping membership free and lower cost events).

Itinerary:

Start your weekend with a brisk walk on the Toronto Islands. We will take the ferry over to Wards Island, walk towards Hanlan's Point, then back. The walk will take about 2-3 hours. We will take the 8:45 pm or 9:30 pm ferry back from Ward's Island. Afterwards, members can go to a pub for a drink.

Some of sites we might see along the way include:

  • Far Enough Farm
  • Centreville
  • the pier
  • Gibralter Point Lighthouse
  • Ned Hanlan Statue
  • Olympic Island (site of the 2008 TOC Picnic)

    • Be sure to eat before the walk as we will not be stopping for food.

    How to Get There:
    Event Directions:The ferry docks are located at the foot of Bay St. (beside the Westin Harbour Castle). We will meet in the ferry waiting area (area AFTER you pay). We will take the 5:30 pm ferry to Ward's Island. Be sure to arrive a few minutes early to meet up with the group.
