Itinerary:

Mono Cliffs is a great place to start the first *real* hike of the season. It is a long one but relatively easy - only one steep climb and mostly rolling hills and some great lookouts. It is part of the Bruce trail system. The distance is estimated at 16.3 Km, but we may not take all the detours the hike suggests. I've biked and hiked this area - the view is wonderful and it is a great beginner/early season conditioning hike. Check out previous trips to Mono Cliffs - Hiking and Biking.
Mono Cliffs contains a significant section of the Niagara Escarpment, including crevice caves, an upland limestone plain, and talus slopes. The park features two prominent masses of rock, separated by erosion from the main rock body. When this occurs, the resultant feature is called an outlier.
