Hike For A Pint 2023 - Episode 5 (6 KM) (4/15/2023)

Itinerary:

Welcome to my Hike For A Pint Series, where we'll be walking to either a brewery or interesting pub in the city.
The group size will be capped based on either reservation size or however many people I think I can get into a location.

You must be 19 or older to sign up for this hike.

Today's 6 KM hike will traverse between Eglinton West Station to a mystery pub near the corner of Bloor & Bathurst.

If you register for this event, I'm going to ask that you come to the pub because:

  • 1. you could be taking a spot away from someone on the wait list who otherwise wanted to attend.
  • 2. Also because I could have a reservation and they are expecting a certain amount of people.

    This hike will be on a combination of paved park paths, gravel trails and sidewalks.

    In terms of hills, we'll primarily be going downhill, with no major climbs over 25 meters.

    In terms of washrooms we'll stop at Loblaws, located about 3 KM into the hike.

    PLEASE NOTE THAT LINE 1 IS CLOSED BETWEEN ST ANDREW & ST CLAIR WEST STATION THIS WEEKEND

    I usually carry a pair of icers with me from the first snowfall of the year until the end of April, so I recommend having a pair in your pack to deal with any potential ice.

  • Weather appropriate clothing

    Event Directions:

    Eglinton West Subway Station is on the Yonge- University & Spadina subway line, 4 stops north of St. George & 5 stops south of Downsview.
    It is located at Eglinton West and Allan Road. Look for me at the lone entrance of the station.

    For those of you driving, Eglinton West Station is located at the end of the Allen Road at Eglinton Station.
    In terms of parking, there should be street parking available in the neighborhood north of the station.
