EVENT DETAILS

THE CARPOOL LEAVES KIPLING STATION, SOUTH PARKING LOT @ 9 AM

This is my first time leading this hike with the TOC.
I've been on all the different parts previously, but have never done the whole hike together.
Today's hike will be on a combination of the Bruce Trail, its side trails and some conservation area trails.

Please bring a lunch and at least 1-2 Litres of water.
My plan is to stop for lunch at Tews Falls, located at the halfway point of the hike.

If you cannot walk the entire distance please do not sign up for this hike.

    EVENT STATS
  • Distance: In and out hike with two loops for 18.5 KM.
  • Terrain: Single track dirt trails, paved roads/sidewalks and a few rocky sections
I am expecting it to be muddy in places, especially on the way back in the afternoon.
  • Trail vs Road: 16.5 km vs 2 km
  • Elevation Range: 125 meters
  • Challenging Climbs of Note: 1 climb of 50 meters and 2 climbs of at least 100 meters
  • Largest Climb: 110 meters
  • Washrooms: None
  • Highlights: 'Borer's Falls', 'Dundas Peak' & 'Tews Falls'

Those willing to drive, will get first priority on the wait list, should they be needed.
DRIVERS, WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE ANSWER THE CARPOOL QUESTION REGARDING THE AMOUNT OF PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE IN YOUR CAR!!!

For those of you choosing to meet at the event location, instead of the carpool, please ensure that you come on time

I’ve set the maximum event count at 1 as I don’t want to add anyone to the event until I have enough carpool drivers to accommodate passengers.
I will try accommodate up to 20 people.

I usually carry a pair of icers with me from the first snowfall of the year until the end of April, so I recommend having a pair in your pack to deal with any potential ice.
You can find the pair I use, 'here from Amazon'.
