Itinerary:

So, there's a couple paths along the Newtonbrook Creek that I haven't walked on before and would like to try them out.

This 8 KM hike will travel between Finch Station & Bessarion Station.

PACE: We'll aim for a pace of 4- 5 km/h

The hike will be on a combination grassy trails, multi use trails, neighbourhood sidewalks and single track dirt trails.

In terms of climb, I think there are about 4 that will test you.
There are also a few tricky downhills as well.

I'll attempt to stop for a washroom at the Bayview Arena located about 3.5 KM into the hike. Hopefully, its open.
However, there is one located in the Finch Go Terminal beside the start of the hike.
Also, its pretty easy to sneak into the MEC to use their washrooms at the end of the hike.

I usually carry a pair of icers with me from the first snowfall of the year until the end of April, so I recommend having a pair in your pack to deal with any potential ice.
You can find the pair I use, 'here from Amazon'.

  • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:

So, we'll meet outside the Finch Go Bus Terminal on the N.E. corner of Yonge & Bishop/Hendon.
If it's cold or wet, then I'll just be inside the GO Bus terminal.

For those traveling from the subway:
    - exit the subway where the ticket booth is on the concourse level,
    - turn right follow the path down past the Tim Hortons,
    - then you can take a right at either the first staircase or the first escalator to get out to the N.E. corner / Finch Go Bus Terminal.
Also, you can just follow the signs for the GO Bus Terminal, whichever is easiest.

For those of you driving, the N.E. corner of Hendon / Bishop is located one traffic light north of Finch.
The entrance to the TTC parking lot is located one further traffic light north on the east side.

Look for me in the BLUE Toronto Outdoor Club shirt.
